Manufacturing
Freight Solutions

Your production line can’t wait for freight. We move raw materials in and finished goods out on a schedule your plant can plan around. Predictable timing keeps the floor running.

The freight problems that slow production

When freight isn’t coordinated around your production schedule, pickups get missed, finished goods pile up, and a logistics gap turns into a line problem.

Carriers who don’t show

A no-show on a scheduled pickup doesn’t just delay a shipment. It backs up your entire production schedule.

No staging support

Finished goods pile up when there’s no warehouse buffer between production and outbound freight. You need coordination, not just a truck.

Too many vendors

Managing a trucking company, a broker, and a warehouse separately means three points of failure on every shipment.

Time-sensitive runs

Production components and finished goods often can’t wait for the standard load board. When something is urgent, you need a carrier who can move fast.

Overflow with no plan

When production outpaces outbound, you need short-term storage that’s tied to transportation, not a separate warehouse problem to solve.

McCabe handles all of it. One contact.

Truckload, LTL, and expedited coordinated.

Staging and overflow under one roof.

One accountable partner, start to finish.

Transportation & logistics

Logistics built around how manufacturing works

We run freight on our trucks, brokered capacity, or both, depending on what moves your load most efficiently. One point of contact, start to finish.

Full Truckload (FTL)

Direct truckload movement for production output, raw materials, and component deliveries. We select the execution path (company fleet or brokered) based on what gets your freight there on time.

Partial Loads (LTL)

Not every shipment fills a trailer. We coordinate partials efficiently (scheduled pickups, consolidated routing, multi-stop freight) without the cost of unused capacity.

Expedited Freight

When a component is critical and there’s no time to wait, we dispatch fast. Hotshot, sprinter van, and box truck for same-day and next-day scenarios that can’t be missed.

Staging & Warehousing

Production overflow, outbound staging, and freight prep at our Sewickley and Claysburg facilities. We coordinate storage and transportation under one roof. No separate warehouse vendor to manage.

Open Deck / Flatbed

For manufacturers moving oversized equipment, raw materials, or freight that doesn’t fit in a standard trailer. Flatbed, step deck, and heavy haul coordination when you need it.

Refrigerated Freight

For manufacturers handling food, pharma, or temperature-sensitive industrial materials. Regional and long-haul reefer with coordinated scheduling.

Why McCabe

One team. No handoffs

01

Production logistics without the gaps

One team manages truckload, LTL, expedited, and staging. If your load needs to move on company trucks or brokered capacity, we decide. You make one call either way.

02

Asset-based with brokerage flexibility

We run company trucks when it’s most efficient and broker when it’s faster. You get one rate, one contact, one accountable partner regardless of which truck shows up.

03

Warehousing tied to transportation

Staging, overflow storage, and outbound freight managed from our Pennsylvania facilities. No separate warehouse vendor. It’s one operation.

04

We confirm before we commit

If we can’t cover a lane reliably, we tell you before we take the load, not after your pickup window passes. Consistent execution over winning every bid.

How it works

What working with us looks like

From the first call to recurring lanes, here’s how working with McCabe actually goes.

01

You contact one person

No broker, no dispatcher, no separate warehouse contact. One point of contact manages your freight regardless of whether it moves on our trucks, brokered capacity, or into our warehouse.

02

We plan the execution

We determine the most efficient path for your freight (company fleet, brokerage network, or a combination) based on timing, equipment needs, and route.

03

We move it and communicate

Scheduled pickup, in-transit visibility, and delivery confirmation. Direct communication throughout, not an automated tracking portal with no one to call.

04

Repeat without rebuilding

Regular lanes, recurring shipments, staging needs: we build the operational rhythm so you’re not solving the same logistics problem every week.

What customers say

What our customers say

We had a carrier walk off a dedicated lane mid-month. McCabe stepped in, confirmed capacity same day, and we’ve been running that lane with them ever since. No drama.
T. Barlow T. Barlow Plant logistics manager, Western Pennsylvania
They handle our FTL outbound and overflow staging when production spikes. Having one call for both the truck and the warehouse space has simplified things considerably.
J. Nowak J. Nowak Supply chain director, Pittsburgh metro
Expedited freight on a Friday for a line-critical part. It arrived Saturday morning. That’s the kind of responsiveness that keeps a production schedule intact.

Frequently asked questions

Do you handle freight for manufacturers in Pennsylvania?
Yes. McCabe Logistics has provided freight and warehousing services to Pennsylvania manufacturers since 1986. We operate from Sewickley and Claysburg, PA, and cover regional and national lanes via company trucks and our brokered carrier network.
Can you handle both trucking and warehousing for a manufacturer?
Yes. Truckload, LTL, expedited, and staging are managed by one team. Outbound freight and warehouse space are coordinated as one operation from our Pennsylvania facilities. You make one call instead of managing a carrier and a warehouse vendor separately.
What happens if we need expedited freight on short notice?
We dispatch fast: hotshot, sprinter van, and box truck for same-day and next-day moves. When a production component is line-critical and can’t wait for the standard load board, we coordinate capacity immediately rather than queuing it.
Do you offer LTL for manufacturers who don’t fill a full trailer?
Yes. We coordinate partial loads efficiently with scheduled pickups, consolidated routing, and multi-stop freight, so you’re not paying for unused trailer capacity on shipments that don’t fill a truck.
What facilities do you have for staging and overflow storage?
Two Pennsylvania facilities: Claysburg (300,000 sq ft, 14 dock doors, rail-served, I-99 corridor) for large-scale overflow, and Sewickley (20,000 sq ft, 4 dock doors, 20 minutes from Pittsburgh) for regional staging. Both are coordinated directly with outbound transportation.
